QC Scientist (Analyst)

6 Month Contract – potential for extension

Paying: £12.00 per hour PAYE

Profile:

The QC Scientist (Analyst) will be working within the quality chemistry team and you will be contributing to the smooth running of the department. A successful candidate will conduct analyst and support of QC Release, Stability and in-process validation and have the ability to work as part of a team. As a QC Scientist (Analyst), you will bring previous experience of working within an analytical laboratory and have full knowledge of current good lab practices in line with 5S principles.

The Role:

As a QC Scientist (Analyst), you:

  • Must be experienced analyst – 2 Years minimum experience
  • Must have HPLC experience and GLP working knowledge
  • Must have Lab experience, with scientific background (e.g. pharmaceutical, drug-development, chemistry, biochemical, or relevant disciplines, however biology background will not be considered.)
  • Good communicator, high attention to detail and has a good output rate whilst maintaining a right first time approach
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).

You will have working knowledge and be able to conduct finish product QC release testing such as:

  • Balances
  • pH Meter
  • UV
  • Karl Fisher
  • FT-IR
  • TLC
  • Dissolution and HPLC (to include degradation analysis)

This will include the ability to:

Generate simple test plans, write stability report. You will have knowledge of quality systems, attention to detail, strong analytical skills.

This will include average testing of volume/output, generating data, managing the right first time error rate. Must be able to interpret product tracking sheets and identify correct specification and methods for testing and this will include stability and validation protocols.

Person:

Must be a strong communicator able to plan own work load, good analytical and administration skills.

There is a potential for this role to convert to a permanent position.
